Pets, Plots & Poisons

Aren't we all curious about an author's animal muse, how they build a twisty plot, and why they chose that poison for their book?

Pets, Plots & Poisons is a Big Blend Radio show, airing every 3rd Thursday at 7pm ET, co-hosted by award-winning mystery and thriller authors Matt Cost and BJ Magnani. Off the page, they're both proud pet parents, with Matt's dog and BJ's cat often keeping them company at the keyboard. Together, they bring their authors' eye for plot, pacing, and character to conversations with the writers who inspire them.

BJ Magnani draws on her career in pathology and toxicology (she's Professor of Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Emerita at Tufts University School of Medicine) to write the Dr. Lily Robinson suspense thriller series. Discover more on her Big Blend Expert Page.

Matt Cost is a former teacher turned full-time novelist, writing across the Mainely Mystery, Clay Wolfe Trap, and Brooklyn 8 Ballo series, plus historical fiction and his latest thriller series, The Modern-Day Chronicles of Max Creed. Discover more on his Big Blend Expert Page.
