Calling South Carolina's Grand Strand home, Jo's love of travel was initially sparked by a month-long visit to the USSR. Her extensive travels now span both domestic and international destinations, with a particular fondness for discovering off-the-beaten-path places. Her preferred article topics include the nuances of food, the intricacies of wineries, and the interesting facets of small-town America. As an award-winning photographer, her favorite subjects include nature, wildlife, and beautiful scenes discovered throughout her journeys. Jo emphasizes her passion: "I love to find 'off the beaten path' places, quietly observing the area and animals, taking photographs, and enjoying the scenery. I love learning about the history of a place, its food, and its wine. I love food and always say, 'I'll eat anything that doesn't eat me first!'"

Jo's writing career began over 25 years ago with her first article published in South Carolina's Pee Dee Magazine. After earning her MBA from Radford, she dedicated years to teaching Business and Computer courses at area colleges and high schools. Now retired, Jo has enthusiastically returned to her love of travel and writing. She is a dedicated contributor and editor of Recipes Travel Culture magazine, and her work can also be found in NRV Magazine, Garden Destinations, Play Stay Eat, FoodieFlashpacker, Mainly Museums, FWT Magazine, Big Blend Magazines, Natural North Florida's blog, Visit Myrtle Beach's blog, and on her own platform, Have Glass Will Travel, among other publications.
