Two new exhibits are opening at DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun this fall, and Lance Laber, the museum's Executive Director, joins Big Blend Radio's Tales of Southwest Artist Ted DeGrazia Podcast to give us a preview.

"The Midnight Sketches of Ted DeGrazia" and "Saint Francis of Assisi" both debut at a free opening reception on Friday, September 4th from 5 to 7pm, with light refreshments — including a pour of the gallery's own DeGrazia-labeled whiskey.

The Midnight Sketches gather DeGrazia's late-night drawings, created between midnight and 5am on prepaid U.S. Mail postcards and envelopes from 1955 through the mid-1970s, many marked with the exact time they were finished.

The Saint Francis exhibit traces nearly three decades of DeGrazia's engagement with the saint through drawings, prints, sculptures, and paintings. Both run alongside the currently-on-display "Ted DeGrazia's Painted Ponies" exhibit, with all three on view through January 27, 2027.

Lance also looks ahead to the gallery's Little Gallery reopening in November with rotating visiting artists, and the December 13th La Fiesta de Guadalupe.
